Indian Noir becomes the first Indian fiction podcast to get a book deal
It has only taken 22 years; finally I am traditionally published. TALES OF HORROR published by Fingerprint will be available exclusively on Amazon in July and in bookstores across India from August. Order by clicking here.
What an incredible birthday gift for Indian Noir! To my knowledge, Indian Noir is the first Indian fiction podcast to get a book deal.
Contained within these pages are new novellas that will never be produced for the podcast. All of Indian Noir's future long-form horror tales (one-shot series) will now live in the pages of this book series. If you loved novella length tales like Bhangarh, Dumas Beach and River of Night's Dreaming, step on-board this terror train.
I want to thank Shantanu Duttagupta at Fingerprint for believing in Indian Noir's mission to build a body of indigenous horror literature that Indians can be proud of. Thanks to my editor, Shilpa Mohan for working with me to stick to the brief - 'make the best collection of Indian horror novellas committed to print'. Big thanks to Art Director Gavin Morris, who was shortlisted for the Oxford Bookstore Book Cover Prize in 2022, for the incredible cover and the internal illustrations that kick off each story.
Fingerprint!, being part of Prakash Books, India's largest trade book distributor, demonstrates a strong commitment to publishing genre fiction, as evidenced by their extensive portfolio of bestselling horror/crime novels throughout the years.
Having conquered the global audio charts, Indian Noir is now coming for the national bestseller charts. And I can only achieve this with your support. So please order the book by clicking here.
India Noir at 5 is like a kindergartener who has reached 2 million ears and now eyeballs. The true potential of the podcast is yet to be realised, and existing in multiple formats and mediums will accelerate this process.
Most people I started my writing journey (20 years ago)/ podcasting journey (5 years ago) with have left the scene. I endure because I never considered myself a content creator or author. I see myself as an artist who tells stories in multiple mediums.
It is an absolute thrill to have my art captured in the pages of a book.
If you have enjoyed Indian Noir over the last 5 years - ordering the book, leaving a review and spreading the word on your social media accounts/Goodreads will be much appreciated. Thank you, folks - you are a part of making this happen too!
